PIERPAOLO LISTA
Pierpaolo Lista (Salerno, 1977) lives in Paestum and works between Naples and Milan. Glass is the only medium for Pierpaolo Lista's painting. The artist reverses the operational dictate of painting - that is, he works on the back of the glass plate. With this particular technique, both drawing and colour emerge as unpredictable appearances, so that every image - even the most elementary - acquires a depth, not of ‘materiality’, but of memory. While Lista's painting is technically unique, his photographs, which are in continuity with his pictorial approach, represent, on the other hand, a world that is difficult to imitate. This is because Lista designs, from time to time, small theatres, micro-choreographies that act as leitmotifs to the photographic shots. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and national and international art festivals. The following have written about him, among others: Gillo Dorfles, Laurence Debecque-Michel, Alan Jones, Filiberto Menna, Antonello Tolve, Angelo Trimarco.
